What Happens During the SkinStylus Procedure?

In general, the SkinStylus microneedling process takes around 30 minutes to complete; however, this will depend on the amount and size of areas being treated and the extent of skin concerns being addressed. To begin, your provider will gently guide the device—which resembles a pen—over the target area(s). During this process, tiny needles create microscopic perforations in the surface layers of the skin to trigger the body’s natural healing response and stimulate production of new collagen and elastin. While downtime is not typically needed, patients may experience temporary redness and swelling after treatment, which should fade within 72 hours. Most patients are able to resume their normal daily routines by the next day. 

Our practice usually recommends a series of at least three SkinStylus sessions to achieve the full potential of treatment and maintain results for as long as possible. However, deeper aesthetic concerns—such as severe acne scarring—may require additional sessions. Our team will evaluate treatment plans on an individual basis, but patients can typically plan for treatments to be spaced approximately four weeks apart. 

How Long Do SkinStylus Results Last?

It is quite common for patients to see noticeable results within a few days after SkinStylus treatment, with the effects continuing to improve in the weeks following the initial session. Overall, the results of SkinStylus microneedling can often last three to five months or longer after completing treatment.
