Dermaplane Skin Rejuvenation

Conveniently located to serve Columbus, Lancaster, Pickerington, and Canal Winchester

We have said for years that exfoliating is something that everyone should do, but no one does. Exfoliation involves removing the dead skin cells from the top layer of the face. This is important because the dead skin can trap dirt and oil, which can lead to breakouts. It also leaves the face with a dull complexion. Dermaplaning removes that top layer of skin cells revealing fresh, healthier skin.

What is a dermaplane?

During a dermaplane, our aesthetician, will use a special surgical-grade tool to gently scrape away the dead skin cells and the little hairs on your face. It is painless and relaxing. Most patients really enjoy their dermaplane experience.

What can a dermaplane do for me?

Dermaplane removes the outermost layer of dead skin cells and hair, revealing a fresh new layer of skin. It leaves your skin feeling fresh and soft. Dermaplane also helps your skin care to penetrate better and therefore makes it more effective. Also, because your skin is smoother, make up will go on more smoothly and look better.

Our aesthetician will often use dermaplane as a part of the preparation for a chemical peel or a facial.

Is dermaplaning safe?

Dermaplane is very safe when it is performed by a well-trained skincare professional. Unlike other skin care treatments, it does not require any chemicals at all, so most people tolerate it very well.

Is dermaplane better than waxing or lasers for hair removal?

It is generally less irritating than waxing, so many of our patients use dermaplane as their preferred method of hair removal for the face. Dermaplane can also be more effective than lasers for hair removal. Facial hair on women tends to be very light, so lasers can’t find it.

What areas can I have dermaplaned?

Dermaplane is performed only on the face.

How often should I get a dermaplane?

Because skin cells typically turn over every 28 days, for best results, we recommend getting a dermaplane every 4 weeks to keep your skin as fresh as it can be. If that schedule is too often for you, however, we will work out a routine for you that works best with your lifestyle and budget to get you the best results we can.
